Mission Impossible 4: Beyond a movie review

Well, to cut a short story long: "Go watch it!!!!"

Must watch movie in order to end 2011 with a bang!!!
It’s an out and out total paisa-vasool fare.


Plus points -

* Saw a House-Full crowd after a long time!!
* Inclusion of wit and humor in MI series, and that too on a positive note!! Yep, I went to MI4 with an pre conceived hangover of a much-serious MI3 and it hell of a surprise!!
* Linear, open story, minus any seeeeeeeecreeeeeeeeeet!!
* Marvelous action sequences - Sandstorm, old fashioned fist fight in climax.
* Spectacular sequence filmed on Burj al Arab, specially the scene where camera literally rises above the structure, and goes top of it and then descends again.
  I wish I would have seen it at IMAX!!!
* The deal sequence comprising of the "scanner" and the "printer”:-D He he.. An engineering student's cream-dream!!!
* Hopping on to Train :-)
* Kremlin Vault heist. A simpleton guy next to me said this to his friend: " Aribbb baasss !! Koi saala file nikal ke silai wala reel ka khaali khol rakh diya drawer me!!!"
  (“ Daang !!! Someone just replaced the files with empty Sewing Machine Reels!!” ) #height
* Man to man dialog-baazi with references to "Planets" ;-) between Tom Cruise, Simon-"Shaun of the Dead"-Pegg,Jeremy-"The Hurt Locker"-Renner :-D
* A whole lot of applause from spellbound audience post Burj,Air Vent and Climax !!!! #priceless
* Arabian-ised and Indian-ised MI theme music.


Let Downs -
a.)    A for Anil Kapoor. Dear Jhakaas sir, I am a big fan of yours, more than that I am of Tom Cruise, and just can't see you "compromised" in a cameo like THAT!

       :(

       Well, if "the story demanded like that", then I will expect some more Playboy-esqueq buffoonery done by Brijnath !
b.)    Ving Rhames, dood!!! Man!!! Just-a-cameo-like-that!!! :(
c.)    Telugu signages on doors and electrical panels in Amchi Mumbai!!!!
d.)    Sun TV network as a "prominent regional"(????) TV network in Mumbai!! ROFL!!
e. 1.) High Tech automated car park! "Kahan-in-India-bhai?" Well, at least "that" one is not in India!! In a Vancouver studio??? Hmmm... :-D
e. 2.) Production bhai logs!!! What about changing the registration numbers of all the BMWs and Audis in the Car Park to more India-like numbers like BRA 13, DBA 786 or UP 21C 8103 ??
       (Trust me - DBA 786 can be found parked opposite Regal Tower's Park at Shipra Sun City)
f.)    Climax credits mentioned only a few Indian looking names viz. Emma Dey - set dresser, Matt Reddy, Kathy Singh - that too in production department.
       Well, when it came to second unit, India, it too didn’t had any reference to "action/doubles" :-D . Koi na!!
       Anyhow , by that time, the movie auditorium House keeping folks were gazing at me with the looks "Would you leave once the next show starts? or shall I vaccum clean your pathetic face as well?"
g.)    CGed Mumbai streets with a superimposed view of Brijnath's palacial home when Russian agent's car is moving down the flyover?? ( Kaunsa flyover tha bhai??), and more than that, a random Tweet which mentioned "What a spectacular car chase on Mumbai streets !!!" . Screw that Tweet !!! :-(
Well, I do not have any problem with the fact that per cinematic liberty, The Climax was shot out-of-India, Who cares!!

I/me/us din't had that feeling when Pran orders Shammi Kapoor "Reach Niagra Falls within an hour-or-so !!", in "The evening in Paris", or when Steel Mill Climax of "Terminator-2" takes place in an entirely different city , or “Rambo 3” gets filmed in Arizona for key action scenes portraying Afghanistan.;)
